I decided to do a small birthday party for Bit this year. Last year I gave in and invited all our families (well I think I only invited N's mom, but she brought her sister and neice anyway, which was fine). It was big, but a blast. Bit was the only little one there.
This year is a whole new ball game, seeing as she's an active toddler. So I decided to invite 2 little friends (1 for each year since she's turning 2). I sent the e-vite out last night and within an hour all 3 adults on the invite list had responded. How cool is that!!
I'm so used to my childless friends who are a nightmare to organize for anything. No offense to them, but it's so refreshing to have some brand new parenting-related friends who are, just, well, different from my old social circle.
My social network is vastly different than it was before having a kid and I am finally getting excited about it and more comfortable letting these newcomers in.
